PRESS RELEASE
Select Lease by Mobilize contributes to EV adoption with expansion into Salary Sacrifice with SalSac partnership
25 March 2025

Select Lease by Mobilize, the leasing market’s new multi-marque funder, has teamed up with SalSac, a Salary Sacrifice software provider, to introduce an innovative, zero-cost car leasing scheme.
This approach is set to revolutionise the market by offering a seamless, cost-effective solution that brings significant advantages to both employers and employees. It represents an efficient solution to make the transition to electric mobility both easier and more affordable.
The launch of this Salary Sacrifice partnership allows employees to exchange part of their salary for a leased car, a new electric vehicle (EV) or plug-in hybrid (PHEV), offering financial benefits to both employees and companies.
In a move to help both employers and employees access the benefits of Salary Sacrifice, the scheme has a zero-cost set up. With no minimum take up, no set up costs and National Insurance savings that the scheme brings with it, employers can benefit from offering this employee perk.
Employees get access to a brand-new All-Electric or Plug-In Hybrid Electric Vehicle lease. Savings are normally in the region of 28-60% less than the cost of privately leasing the same vehicle.
In essence, salary sacrifice is a win-win: employees get a cost-effective way to lease an EV or PHEV, while companies save money and support greener transport solutions.
SalSac will also help with implementation, including employee and employer webinars, Salary Sacrifice quotations and scheme administration, making set up simple.
In the UK, Salary Sacrifice is the fastest growing funding method, according to the British Vehicle Rental and Leasing Associations (BVRLA). The associations latest Leasing Outlook report shows that Salary Sacrifice has rocketed to a record 51% year-on-year growth, so this zero-cost set up scheme will help more companies to access the benefits and savings of Salary Sacrifice.
<<At the core of this groundbreaking initiative is the zero-cost structure for employers. Select Lease by Mobilize makes sure companies can launch their schemes without incurring any setup or ongoing fees. There are no minimum company size requirements, making this salary sacrifice accessible to more businesses across the spectrum, from SMEs to large enterprises. In addition, the offering includes valuable optional features such as motor insurance, early termination insurance, and the option for fully fitted home EV chargers, all of which contribute to a hassle-free experience.>>
<< This partnership marks a pivotal moment in the evolution of Salary Sacrifice car leasing schemes. What is Salary Sacrifice?
Salary sacrifice allows employees to exchange part of their salary for a leased car, usually a new electric vehicle (EV) or plug-in hybrid (PHEV), offering financial benefits to both employees and companies. Businesses save on National Insurance contributions, especially when leasing pure electric vehicles due to their lower Benefit in Kind (BIK) rates.
In essence, salary sacrifice is a win-win: employees get a cost-effective way to lease an EV or PHEV, while companies save money and support greener transport solutions.
Here’s how it works
The sacrificed portion of the salary is deducted from the employee's gross pay, which lowers the cost of leasing the car compared to traditional Personal Contract Hire (PCH) agreements. Since this deduction is made before tax, employees benefit from lower income tax and national insurance contributions, making the lease more affordable.
